Key Responsibilities:- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
- Prepare layouts and ensure compliance with building codes using measuring tools.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
- Survey building locations and levels.
- Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers.
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various establishments.
- Carpenter Trade Certification.
- Carpenter Red Seal Certificate.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Own transportation and vehicle.
- Steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, and safety glasses/goggles.
This is a physically demanding role that requires working in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. You will be required to handle heavy loads and work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
