About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Scientist to join our team at the University of Toronto. As a Staff Research Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the field of AI-driven autonomous discovery and developing the materials and molecules required to address society's largest challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement machine learning algorithms for accelerated materials discovery
  • Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to design and implement research programs that leverage our self-driving labs
  • Work closely with industry partners to develop and execute research projects that meet their needs
  • Present research findings at academic conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals
  • Manage and oversee the activities of a lab, including supervising research staff and students
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science, life sciences, physics, engineering, computer science, or related discipline
  • 1-5 years of experience in accelerated research and development in the area of machine learning applications in computational chemistry and/or biology
  • Strong experience presenting research at academic conferences and publishing in peer-reviewed journals
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
