Job Summary

The University Health Network is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Scientist to join our team. As a Research Scientist, you will be responsible for performing pathology testing for research purposes according to established procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform tissue processing, embedding & microtomy of clinical/animal tissue
  • Conduct routine and specialized staining histological staining
  • Perform routine and specialized immunohistochemical staining
  • Develop and optimize new antibodies for research purposes
  • Perform in-situ hybridization

Additional Responsibilities

  • Liaise with research & client services to ensure delivery of services
  • Provide input on workflow optimization
  • Provide insight on major equipment purchases
  • Document results according to established procedures
  • Maintain laboratory and laboratory equipment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, CMLTO certified Medical Laboratory Technologist preferred
  • 6 years of recent histopathology research/clinical experience required
