Job Summary:

Equinox Engineering Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Process Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our process engineering group, you will be responsible for designing and developing process systems for multi-discipline projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the success of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Lead Process Engineer in coordinating and communicating various issues that affect the process engineering design, safety, and regulatory compliance of the work.
  • Execute feasibility studies, conceptual design, process studies, and detailed engineering design.
  • Develop and maintain process simulations and models of oil processing facilities, utilizing PipeSIM software.
  • Prepare and develop key design documents, including material balances, PFDs, P&IDs, and shutdown keys.
  • Conduct line sizing, PSV sizing, and prepare process data sheets for equipment.
  • Assume responsibility for leading engineering projects and teams, as needed.
  • Perform process troubleshooting, optimization, and variability reduction through statistical process control and process improvement.
  • Provide process training, WHMIS training, and new process start-up assistance.
  • Monitor and reduce chemical usage, water consumption, and environmental impact, while mentoring departmental staff and justifying capital projects.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience working in an EPCM environment, with a focus on sweet and sour gas projects.
  • Broad exposure to heavy oil or sweet and sour gas facility design and construction, including field facilities and processing facilities.
  • Familiarity with technical specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (P. Eng) designation or equivalent.
  • Chemical Engineering degree, with experience in EPCM environments.
  • Minimum 5 years of oil and gas experience in an EPCM environment.
  • Process design experience, including process mass balances, process flow diagrams, and process support services.
  • Systems design experience, including piping and instrument diagrams, cause and effect diagrams, hazard and operability design reviews, and systems support services.
  • Proficiency with HYSYS and PipeSIM software, as well as other related simulation tools.
