Job Summary

The Intermediate Process Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing process systems for multi-discipline projects. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as experience with process design, simulation, and optimization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Lead Process Engineer in coordinating and communicating various issues related to process engineering design, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Execute feasibility studies, conceptual design, process studies, and detailed engineering design.
  • Develop key design documents, including material balances, PFDs, P&IDs, and shutdown keys.
  • Perform process simulations and modeling of oil processing facilities, with a focus on PipeSIM experience.
  • Assume responsibility for process troubleshooting, optimization, and variability reduction through SPC and process improvement.
  • Provide process training, WHMIS training, and new process start-up assistance.
  • Monitor and reduce chemical usage, water consumption, and environmental impact, while mentoring departmental environmental initiatives and justifying capital projects.
Requirements
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or equivalent qualification.
  • Chemical Engineering degree with EPCM experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of oil and gas experience in an EPCM environment.
  • Strong knowledge of process design, simulation, and optimization, including HYSYS and PipeSIM.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Sweet and sour gas project experience in an EPCM environment.
  • Broad exposure to heavy oil or sweet and sour gas facility design and construction.
  • Familiarity with technical specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements.
