Job Summary

SSP Group is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Food Service Associate to join our team at Kelowna International Airport. As a Food Service Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Process orders accurately and efficiently, using our point-of-sale system to ensure seamless transactions.
  • Receive payment from customers and process change, maintaining a high level of cash handling accuracy.
  • Responsible for setting up, maintaining, and cleaning equipment and machinery, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Complete opening, ongoing, and closing checklists as required, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Return all items used during your shift to their proper place, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform general and specific cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products, as assigned by your supervisor, to maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a food service environment is preferred.
  • A high school diploma is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language to communicate effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Experience in dealing with customer service issues and resolving problems in a professional manner.
  • Ability to remember and recite menu items, as well as promote our offerings to guests.
  • Ability to operate a keyboard and point-of-sale procedures to pre-check orders and close out transactions.
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for extended periods, maintaining a high level of energy and productivity.
