Overview

At KPMG in Canada, we're seeking a talented Tax Specialist to join our team of dedicated professionals. As part of our Private Enterprise Tax practice, you'll have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, providing tax planning and compliance services that drive business success.

This exciting role will challenge you to excel in a broad range of tax-related work, from research and analysis to preparation of tax returns and technical memos. You'll have the chance to work closely with senior staff members, developing your skills and expertise in corporate tax initiatives.

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Researching and analyzing tax issues, including assistance with structuring of domestic and international investments.
  2. Preparing corporate, partnership, trust, and personal tax returns.
  3. Preparing draft technical memos to file, instruction letters to legal counsel, and client reporting letters for review by senior staff members.
  4. Preparing income tax models.
  5. Reviewing corporate and personal tax returns.
  6. Reviewing tax provisions for larger audit and non-audit clients.
  7. Interacting with clients and other team members.
  8. Assisting senior staff members in all aspects of corporate tax initiatives.


What you'll bring to the role

To succeed in this position, you'll need:

  1. A minimum of 2 years' experience in a public accounting firm.
  2. Successful completion of the CFE, with a CPA designation or in progress.
  3. Enrollment in the In-Depth tax course or a willingness to enroll.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Demonstrated leadership and team building skills.
  6. Strong time management abilities and self-motivation.
  7. Able to handle multiple priorities.
  8. Keen to assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies for clients.
  9. Willing to learn new skills by researching various tax issues.
  10. Excellent client service skills with an aptitude to understand clients' businesses and maintain strong relationships.
