Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our Electrical Services Department at Northern Dock Systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, as well as planning installations from blueprints and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, including electrical and electronic devices.
  • Plan installations from blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
  • Systematically diagnose faults in electrical and electronic components.
  • Measure, cut, thread, bend, assemble, and install conduits and other electrical conductor raceways.
  • Splice and terminate electrical conductors.
  • Assist fellow employees as requested and follow supplier/NDS warranty procedures.
  • Load side electrical connections from disconnect provided, including all conduit and wiring required for equipment.
  • Low voltage wiring for activation accessories and limits, including control wiring and fire relay connections.
  • Installation of all types of electrical conduits – watertight, EMT, flex, BX, and rigid (when required for special applications).

Requirements:

  • At least 2-4 years of electrician experience required – experience working with overhead doors/docks is a strong asset.
  • 309A or 442A and 309A license required.
  • Sound mechanical and electrical knowledge is a must.
  • Ability to operate a boom truck.
  • Arc welding may be required in this position.
  • Valid driver's license with clean abstract and a criminal reference check is required.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
