Senior Electrical Operations Manager

The Area Manager, Power Distribution, is a key role within Encore Global, responsible for overseeing the execution of electrical requirements at assigned venues. This position will handle the planning, scheduling, and supervision of power distribution technicians, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and safety standards. The successful candidate will work closely with regional and venue leaders to support sales and operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesStaff Development- Identify training needs and provide support to team members. Assist with goal setting and tracking, and recruit, hire, and manage power distribution staff at assigned locations.
- Lead, motivate, and performance manage staff, assigning projects based on factors such as relationships, expertise, and personality.
- Partner with venue and regional leadership to ensure all on-site personnel have received proper training and acquired necessary skills to safely execute power distribution.
- Complete field assessments and site inspections to ensure power safety compliance. Assist with the evaluation of safety of existing power distribution infrastructure and recommend necessary improvements.
- Assume responsibility as Designated Master Electrician for Encore ECRA License. Submit and manage permits for electrical work in Ontario.
- Plan and execute power distribution load-in/load-out plans for trade shows and production events. Supervise and complete set and strike of required power distribution for general sessions, breakouts, computer labs, and meal functions.
- Manage power distribution inventory, sub rental, and subcontract labour, and be responsible for power equipment and labour management.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills, providing support to internal and external clients. Develop strategies for influencing potential clients and assist in the preparation of quotes.
- Effectively direct Encore employees and manage outside electricians, and cross-train Encore co-workers as needed.
- 5-7 years electrical experience
- Master Electrician license
- Lift certification and experience with lift operation
- Broad familiarity with the trade show and production industries
- Customer service experience
- Ability to create and implement training programs, safety procedures, and ongoing maintenance and continuous education programs
