Occupational Therapist

Prairie Mountain Health is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in the assessment, planning, development, organization, implementation, and evaluation of all aspects of care related to the profession of Occupational Therapy.
Key Responsibilities- Organize and prioritize assigned caseload, ensuring timely and effective delivery of services.
- Apply Occupational Therapy knowledge and skills to provide individualized and continuous assessment and treatment for clients.
- Collaborate with clients, families, and external agencies to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Delegate tasks and activities to Rehabilitation Assistants as appropriate and in accordance with the treatment plan.
- Utilize evidence-based practice and techniques within the scope of Occupational Therapy to treat clients.
- Communicate and consult with multidisciplinary teams to implement treatment plans.
- Document client information in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to PMH policy and professional college guidelines.
- Attend care conferences, discharge planning, and team meetings as required.
- Liaise with external agencies to exchange information and promote health promotion and disease prevention principles.
- Complete statistical reporting as required and within established timelines.
- Collaborate with management to ensure continuity of services during periods of absence or vacancy.
- Provide clinical supervision to students or provisional Occupational Therapists as per guidelines.
- Participate in performance review process and goal setting to enhance work performance.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to guide decision-making within scope of practice and position.
- Graduate from an accredited or approved university Occupational Therapy program.
- Eligible for and maintains licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the province of Manitoba.
- Eligible for and maintains membership with the Canadian Occupational Therapy Association.
- Current Basic Life Saving (BLS) Certification within the past twelve (12) months as per Prairie Mountain Health Policy CPR Training.
- Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers Licence, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain Health.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team member.
- Skilled ability in the assessment, identification, and treatment of clients in varying ages and diagnosis.
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications and other Information Technology.
- Demonstrated leadership, written and oral communication skills, and ability to prioritize in a changing environment.
- Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to display independent judgment, respect and promote a culturally diverse population, and respect and promote confidentiality.
