Gardan Gas Bar is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for operating the cash register, processing payments, and providing excellent customer service.

About the Role

This is a permanent position that requires flexibility and reliability. The ideal candidate will have 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a retail or food service environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a cash register to process transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Process money, cheques, and credit/debit card payments.
  • Scan items quickly and accurately to ensure accurate pricing.
  • Tabulate total payment for goods or services required.
  • Receive payment for goods or services and provide change as necessary.
  • Calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile with total sales.
  • Stock shelves and clean counter area to maintain a safe and organized workspace.
  • Greet customers and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Handle foreign currency exchange and calculate correct change.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail. You will need to work under pressure, handle heavy loads, and be on your feet for long periods of time.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a retail or food service environment.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and stand for long periods of time.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability and dependability.
Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $25-$30 per hour, depending on experience. This equates to approximately $50,000-$60,000 per year based on a 40-hour workweek. Benefits may include health and dental insurance, paid vacation time, and opportunities for professional development.
