Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health seeks a skilled physician to provide virtual support for Indigenous Health Outreach and Indigenous Crisis Response Team.

This role involves providing on-call, virtual episodic care to patients, liaising with nursing staff, and coordinating with other physicians/NPs as needed.

You will need to use Profile EMR, PARIS, and Cerner for this role, and will be compensated for any training required.

Estimated Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-call, virtual episodic care to patients who will be initially assessed by our nurses in-person Monday through Friday from 0800-1800.
  • Liaise with nursing staff who are on site to create an episodic care plan for a patient and determine bridging care.
  • Coordinate with the other physicians/NPs on the team as needed to ensure continuity of care.
  • Perform tasks such as antipsychotic titration for mental health decompensation, virtual certification with a Form 4 (on rare occasions), care coordination, and liaison with psychiatrists.

Requirements:

  • Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) - Full licensure.
  • Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) certification.
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) membership.
  • Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) designation.
