We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Education Coach to join our team at First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC). This is an exciting opportunity to work with First Nations schools across British Columbia, supporting educators in improving instructional practices and student outcomes.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in education, preferably in the K4-9 range, and a proven track record of working effectively with diverse groups. They will be responsible for providing coaching and support to educators, helping them develop effective teaching strategies and assessments that cater to the needs of all learners.

This role requires frequent travel throughout the province, allowing the successful candidate to experience the beauty of British Columbia while making a lasting impact on Indigenous education.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Coach educators in planning and delivering instruction that meets the needs of all learners;
  • Develop and implement assessment tools to measure student progress and achievement;
  • Liaise with Regional Principals and other educational stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and communication;
  • Travel regularly to First Nations schools to provide on-site coaching and support;
  • Collaborate with the FNESC team to develop and deliver professional development opportunities for educators.

Requirements:

  • A valid BC Teaching Certificate;
  • Proven experience working as an educator in grades K4-9;
  • BC Driver's Licence and willingness to drive;
  • Comprehensive understanding of Indigenous education issues and First Nations issues in British Columbia;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
