About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Waterford Arena in Norfolk County. As a key member of our Operations Department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional maintenance and repair services to our recreational facilities, ensuring they remain safe, clean, and well-maintained for the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including building operations, equipment repairs, and cleaning;
  • Maintain arenas, libraries, museums, cemeteries, community centers, and other municipal administration facilities to the highest standards;
  • Conduct seasonal maintenance tasks, such as ice resurfacing, grass cutting, and snow removal;
  • Operate specialized equipment, including ice resurfacers, edgers, and backhoes;
  • Assist with the relocation and setup of administrative office equipment and supplies;
  • Provide support for cemetery operations, ensuring compliance with municipal and provincial policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 or GED equivalent;
  • Basic Arena Refrigeration certification through Ontario Recreation Facilities Association (considered an asset) or willingness to obtain within six months of hire date;
  • Over two years' relevant experience;
  • Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle;
  • Computer expertise in corporate standard software (Microsoft Office) and department-specific software.
