Job Title: Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Take Flight Contracting Ltd. as a key member of our construction team.

Job Summary:

The Carpenter will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the construction and repair of buildings, including reading blueprints, preparing layouts, measuring and cutting materials, and assembling and joining wood and other materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Survey building locations and levels
  • Estimate costs and materials
Work Environment:

The Carpenter will work in a fast-paced construction environment, with frequent exposure to heights, noise, and outdoor conditions.

Requirements:
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in carpentry or a related field
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Ability to work at heights, in noisy environments, and outdoors
