Activity Leader - Float, Before & After School Program

We're seeking a part-time Activity Leader to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Vancouver.

As an Activity Leader, you'll be responsible for facilitating fun and creative activities and games, and making a real difference in kids' lives.

You'll work in a fun, fast-paced environment, and enjoy the rewards of building valuable career experience toward a future in childhood education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work effectively within a staff team to provide an inclusive environment of support, strategies, and resources for children with diverse needs.
  • Provide individual support to children within the program setting when required.
  • Help to build and contribute to a community environment of global supports and inclusion for all children.
  • Help children navigate conflict and role model positive behaviours.
  • Contribute to the development, integration, and maintenance of care plans within the program.
  • Provide enhanced ratio to support all children in the program.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • Experience working with children 5 – 12.
  • Emergency First Aid and CRC – C & AED.
  • 20 hours of training in Child Development, Child Guidance and/or Nutrition an asset.
