As a key member of Natus' Research and Advanced Development Team, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation in neurodiagnostics. Our team is dedicated to developing cutting-edge machine learning solutions for next-generation products.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our team and contribute to the development of robust data processing workflows, deployable diagnostic and decision support algorithms, and performant methodologies of data storage and curation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal and external clinicians, medical providers, and engineers to design, implement, maintain, and test data-intensive solutions.
  • Develop and deploy diagnostic visualization and clinical decision support tools that empower healthcare professionals in their practice.
  • Conduct rigorous statistical validation and performance evaluation of models to ensure accuracy, reliability, and interpretability.
  • Communicate complex data science concepts to both technical and clinical audiences.
  • Act as an expert resource in data science and medical device algorithms, identifying new market opportunities and researching cutting-edge technologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computational Neuroscience, Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in algorithm development and deployment, including classical machine learning and deep learning, cloud platforms, and data curation techniques.
  • Experience working with EEG signals, strong coding skills (e.g., Python, Matlab), and excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's or Ph.D. in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrophysiology or a related field.
  • Experience developing for neurophysiological sensor-based data acquisition systems or signal processing algorithms in a medical device industry setting.

Salary Estimate: CAD 120,000 - 150,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

Location: Oakville, Canada.

Travel Requirements: Minimal travel required.

Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
