Job Description

The Enterprise Data Architect plays a pivotal role in shaping the town's data infrastructure, ensuring it effectively supports strategic priorities while translating business requirements into actionable plans.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for the entire organization, adhering to best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with key partners and business areas to assess business needs and data requirements, identifying sources, types, and usage of data.
  • Oversee the integration of master data management frameworks to centralize key data elements.
  • Create an inventory of significant data and information initiatives within the organization, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical expertise to leadership and data stewards on data conceptualization, project planning, and post-implementation best practices.
  • Ensure the town's data architecture supports strong governance practices, including quality, security, compliance, and proper data usage.
  • Develop principles, policies, standards, and procedures governing data management throughout its lifecycle.
  • Design data models and structures enforcing governance rules, such as standardized formats, consistent naming conventions, and proper relationships between entities.
  • Promote continuous improvement in data architecture methodologies and processes.
Required Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years experience as a Data Architect or similar role, focusing on enterprise-wide data management from a business standpoint.
  • Certificate in relevant disciplines such as Certified Data Management Professional, The Open Group Architecture Framework, or other relevant cloud architecture, design certifications.
  • In-depth knowledge of data management principles, data governance frameworks, and industry best practices.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, integration, quality, and master data management concepts.

Compensation: The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
