Recreation Specialist

The City of Ottawa's Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreation Specialist to join our team. As a Recreation Specialist, you will be responsible for planning and implementing program content and for the instruction, coaching or coordination of intermediate sport programs.
Responsibilities- Plan and implement program content for intermediate sport programs
- Provide instruction, coaching or coordination for intermediate sport programs
- Supervise and coordinate staff as needed
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures
- Completion of Grade 11
- Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated experience in sport specialty area
- Experience in staff supervision and program coordination
- Current Standard First Aid, CPR and/or AED certificates
- AODA Customer Service/IASR Training
- Appropriate certification in the relevant recreation/sports program
- Education in Recreation or related field
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Knowledge of City of Ottawa policies and procedures
