Job Title: Therapeutic Recreation Specialist

Join the City of Ottawa's Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services team as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. This role is responsible for assisting with the delivery of the Program, a Therapeutic Recreation/Life Skills day program, which includes aspects of Therapeutic Recreation Programming.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the delivery of the Program, a Therapeutic Recreation/Life Skills day program
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Therapeutic Recreation Programming
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the success of the program
  • Provide support to clients with disabilities and special needs
Requirements:
  • Completion of a 4-year Therapeutic Recreation degree or a 3-year general degree with a Therapeutic Recreation Diploma
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Therapeutic Recreation Adult Day Program/ABI/Special Needs/Rehab/Community/Inclusive Recreation
  • Current Standard First Aid, CPR, and/or AED certificates
  • Crisis Prevention/Intervention training certificate
  • AODA Customer Service/IASR Training
