Job Title: Head of Litigation

We are seeking a seasoned lawyer to join our team as a Head of Litigation at ME Law PC. As a key member of our litigation practice, you will be responsible for providing visionary leadership to the litigation department, overseeing the performance of junior and intermediate associate lawyers, and reporting to the principal lawyer and executive team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Supervision: Provide guidance on case strategy, legal research methodologies, and courtroom advocacy skills to junior and intermediate associates.
  • Case Management: Oversee the management of all litigation matters handled by the department, ensuring that cases are handled efficiently, effectively, and in accordance with client expectations.
  • Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor and advocate for their legal needs.
  • Legal Research and Analysis: Stay abreast of developments in case law, legislation, and procedural rules relevant to the firm's litigation practice.
  • Professional Development: Design and implement training programs and professional development initiatives to enhance the skills and expertise of junior and intermediate associate lawyers within the litigation department.

Requirements:

  • 20+ years of experience working at a law firm that strictly focuses on civil litigation.
  • In-depth and strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and the Court of Justice Act.
  • Any examples of prior work, such as published cases or research papers, would be an asset.

This is a full-time position performed on-site at the office, but there may be occasional availability to work remotely.
