About the Role:
Parsons Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Project Manager to join our Critical Infrastructure team. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing civil construction projects from design phase to closeout and handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructability inputs.
- Responsible for planning, managing, and progressing work packages from design completion to closeout and handover.
- Develop internal budgetary estimates and schedules.
- Develop scopes of work and tender packages, including pre-bid meetings and communication requirements.
- Participate in bid evaluations and contract awarding.
- Manage contractor onboarding, document submittals, and approvals for mobilization and construction execution.
- Execute construction activities and manage contractor performance, ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
- Manage requests for information processes and flow.
- Manage compliance with the change order process and procedures.
- Maintain and track project deliverables, including schedule, cost, quality, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Effectively communicate and lead construction superintendents, inspectors, QA/QC coordinators, finance, procurement, document control, planning, scheduling, and estimators, as well as contractors.
- Assist the Construction Manager in resolving issues related to cost, schedule, or quality variance by working with subcontractors to develop and implement corrective actions.
- Assist the Mine Manager, H&S Manager, and Environmental Manager in ensuring HS&E awareness and compliance among subcontractors.
- Prepare monthly reports on work package progress, including schedule and budget compliance assessments, for delivery to the Construction Manager and Senior Project Manager.
Requirements:
- A degree or technology diploma in Engineering, Geology, or a directly related technical field.
- 12+ years of experience in project management, construction management, specifically in developing project requirements and plans, preparing cost estimates, participating in contract bidding and award processes, managing projects in the execution phase, and managing project closeout.
- 5+ years of work experience in heavy civil, northern mining, or remediation projects.
- 5+ years of experience working in Northern Canada is an asset.
- Knowledgeable of industry practices and regulations.
- Knowledgeable of current technologies and their effective utilization on projects.
- Professional designation (or the ability to obtain one) as a professional geologist, engineer, CET, with a PMP designation being preferable.
- Experience managing on-site activities of multiple subcontractors.
- Experience addressing and resolving issues related to poor subcontractor performance.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate team members.
