About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Chief Human Resources Officer to join our team at BDO Canada LLP. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives that enhance our organizational performance and deliver a differentiated talent experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Talent Management: Develop and implement integrated talent strategies that align with our business objectives and drive business success.
  • HR Function Evolution: Drive the evolution of our internal Human Resources functions to deliver a world-class talent experience.
  • Business Partnership: Partner with senior stakeholders to craft strategies that attract and retain top talent, and drive business success.
  • Culture and Performance: Champion a performance culture that embodies our values, mission, and code of conduct.
  • Workforce Planning: Develop and implement workforce planning directives to ensure we have the right talent in place to drive business success.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Develop and maintain metrics and reporting to track our talent strategies and make data-driven decisions.
  • HR Budgeting: Develop and manage our annual HR budget to ensure we are allocating resources effectively.
  • External Partnerships: Develop and maintain relationships with external organizations to drive business growth and innovation.
  • Leadership Team Support: Provide strategic advice and guidance to our Leadership Team on all talent-related initiatives.
  • Global Human Capital: Work with our international members to develop and implement global human capital initiatives.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: Proven leadership experience in taking an organization to the next level of growth while operating in complex and fluid environments.
  • People-Centered Design: Expertise in people-centered design and creating followership and buy-in with your passion.
  • HR Function Leadership: Successful record of results leading the HR function of a large, multi-faceted organization.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to interpret, prepare, and communicate key messages in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Data-driven individual who generates and executes ideas at strategic and tactical levels.
  • Talent Strategy Development: 15+ years of demonstrated experience building, designing, and implementing enterprise-wide talent strategies.
  • Team Leadership: Proven leadership ability to coach, motivate, persuade, influence, and develop a team.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business knowledge and acumen to effectively understand and fulfill business needs as it relates to talent.
  • Advisory Mindset: Demonstrate an advisory mindset and highest standards of ethics, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Education: Hold a university degree ideally supplemented by a recognized designation, certification, or Masters/Ph.D.
