Commercial Insurance Account Development Specialist

CMB Insurance Brokers is a professional office environment seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Insurance Account Development Specialist to join our team.
As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for maintaining a high-performing Book of Business, generating new business opportunities, and building strong relationships with clients. Your primary focus will be on promoting and selling insurance solutions to commercial prospects, mining contacts for referrals, and utilizing the iWin prospect system to ensure growth of your book of business.
Pipeline Generation:
- You will engage in business-to-business selling, cold calling, warm calling, and prospecting to identify new leads and expand your existing client base.
- With excellent communication skills and a deep understanding of the commercial insurance market, you will prepare and submit complete submissions using the CMB Application & Submission formats, ensuring that all underwriting information is provided to insurers to obtain the most competitive packages available.
Sales and Presentations:
- Using your knowledge of our services and products, you will inform clients and prospects about additional coverages and services that may benefit them, and present professional and competitive proposals detailing our coverages and services.
- You will also perform client visits as necessary for prospecting, sales, inspections, claims, and service.
Client Service:
- You will maintain accurate records of client interactions, renewals, and account receivable reports, ensuring that all outstanding balances are paid within ten days.
- Working closely with our Business Service Specialists [Account Managers], you will review client renewals annually to complete Coverage Checklists and conduct thorough reviews of coverage on existing accounts, remarketing as necessary to provide the best coverage and competitive price for all clients.
Team Support:
- You will actively mentor and support team members in their growth and development, contributing to our company's perpetuation plan for developing the next generation of professionals.
- Familiarity with company policies and procedures is essential, and you will be expected to attend and participate in staff meetings and company functions.
Requirements:
- A Level 2 Insurance Agent License is required, with a completion of C.I.P. or CAIB designation or equivalent preferred.
- You should have 2-5 years of experience within an independent commercial insurance business environment and 1-2 years of experience in a team environment in a customer sales and marketing position.
- Ideally, you will have experience with Agency Manager, Microsoft Office Suite, or comparable computer systems.
The estimated salary for this role is $80,000 per year, plus commission pay. Benefits include casual dress, company events, dental care, disability insurance, life insurance, on-site parking, tuition reimbursement, and vision care. The work schedule is Monday to Friday. We require applicants to have their Alberta Level 2 Insurance License and 2-5 years of commercial insurance experience.
