Trade Marketer – Western Region Sales – Fort McMurray
Position Overview
The Trade Marketer plays a critical role in driving JTI-Macdonald Corp.'s market share and volume within their territory. This involves developing and executing trade programs, optimizing product mix, and ensuring optimal product quality, distribution, and inventory levels. The successful candidate will also be responsible for negotiating retail agreements and managing service fee budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize product distribution, inventory levels, and pricing at the retail, wholesale, and cash & carry levels within a predefined territory.
- Manage territory data reports, trade program budgets, and weekly expense accounts, ensuring timely and accurate collection of store-level data.
- Negotiate independent retail contracts and maintain compliance for key targeted accounts within assigned budget allocations.
- Implement retail programs and product launches as directed, improving results and return on investment while staying within budget allocations.
- Educate the trade on JTI-MC products through effective communication of brand attributes and use of trade support tools.
- Monitor and report compliance of national and regional chain agreements within the territory.
- Engage retail and wholesale customers in conversation regarding their business and industry trends, effectively communicating competitive activity.
- Present a professional image and maintain a good business rapport with customers, adhering to JTI Corporate guidelines and code of conduct.
Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary education.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- A willingness to participate in decision-making with regional management.
- A valid driver's license is required (a company vehicle will be provided).
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision.
- Understanding of financial planning and time management.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in FMCG sales.
Skills, Competencies & Languages
- Solid knowledge and skill level with Microsoft Office products.
- Sales experience is an asset.
- English is the primary language required, with additional languages being an asset.
- Commercial understanding.
- Strong communication and selling skills.
