Farm Supervisor Job Description

Turning Leaf Greenhouses is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our agricultural team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our greenhouse and crop production activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate crop growth and development, considering factors such as water saturation, light, and temperature.
  • Direct agricultural crops deleafing, clipping, and harvesting activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial and production data.
  • Supervise nursery and greenhouse workers, ensuring efficient and safe working practices.
  • Perform routine chemical and physical tests of products.
  • Enforce policies and procedures, and recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers.
  • Identify and investigate compliance issues, and coordinate planting and cultivating activities.
Requirements:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Pesticide Applicator's Licence.
  • Automated irrigation system, fertilizer applicator, and sprayer or duster experience.
  • Specialized environmental skills and knowledge.
  • Nursery or greenhouse specialization.
  • Valid driver's licence and own vehicle.
Working Conditions:
  • Work under pressure, with tight deadlines.
  • Physically demanding, with standing for extended periods and bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required.
