Job Title: Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) in Global Environmental Health

The University of British Columbia's Faculty of Medicine is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Global Environmental Health. This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant research community and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for environmental health challenges.

About the Position

This position is part of the Occupational and Environmental Health Division in the School of Population and Public Health (SPPH). The successful candidate will be expected to lead an innovative program of research to understand relationships between the environment and the health of populations and communities from a global perspective.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in global environmental health, with a focus on understanding the impacts of climate change, global health disparities, urbanization, and transportation on human health.
  • Develop and teach courses in global environmental health, as well as provide mentorship and training to undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate learners.
  • Provide service to the University and the broader academic and professional community, including participation in departmental and faculty committees.
Requirements

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in environmental health sciences or a related discipline. They will demonstrate clear potential to establish a high-impact extramurally-funded independent research program and have a strong commitment to teaching and training students in areas related to global and environmental health.
