Job Title: Assistant Professor

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of British Columbia. This is a tenure-track position that will also hold the newly established Providence Health Care/UBC Professorship in Indigenous Cultural Safety and Nursing.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing an independent program of research focused on advancing Indigenous Cultural Safety in Nursing. They will work with colleagues across Providence Health Care and beyond to ensure that advances developed through their research will be applied to nursing and interprofessional practices throughout Providence Health Care sites and provincial and national health systems.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead a research program focused on Indigenous Cultural Safety in Nursing
  • Contribute to teaching, mentorship, and clinical services aligned with the focus of the Professorship
  • Work with colleagues to ensure that research advances are applied to nursing and interprofessional practices
  • Contribute to strengthening the relationship between Providence Health Care and the University of British Columbia School of Nursing
Requirements

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Nursing or a related discipline, practice experience in nursing, and be registered or eligible for registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives. They will also have demonstrated potential for excellence in research and teaching.
