Job Title: Assistant Professor in Neuro Bioengineering

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Professor in Neuro Bioengineering. The successful candidate will have a strong background in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, neuro-engineering, neurobiology, and/or related fields.

Job Summary:

The School of Biomedical Engineering at the University of British Columbia (UBC) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Neuro Bioengineering. The successful candidate will lead an independent research program with potential to achieve international recognition for leadership and research excellence in their field.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead an independent research program with potential to achieve international recognition for leadership and research excellence in their field.
  • Participate in graduate and undergraduate teaching in biomedical engineering and related topics.
  • Provide service within the University and to both the academic and broader community.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. or equivalent in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, neuro-engineering, neurobiology, and/or related fields.
  • Strong training background in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, neuro-engineering, neurobiology, and/or related fields.
  • Demonstrated ability in scholarly activity with experience in collaborative and convergent research at the interface of engineering and molecular/cellular neuroscience.
  • Demonstrated evidence of success, or potential ability for success, in teaching and the ability to effectively communicate and interact with empathy, understanding, and respect of diverse and divergent perspectives and behaviors.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • P.Eng. licence or eligibility to obtain a P.Eng. license or Limited Licence with Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
  • Quantitative science backgrounds such as Math, Quantitative Neuroscience, Computer Science, or Physics.
