Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Solar Engineering Manager, Analytics to join our team in Oakville, Ontario. This is a regular full-time position that will play a critical role in the success of our solar projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the performance of all solar projects, aiming to maximize energy production and revenue.
  • Conduct potential loss calculations caused by various outdoor environments.
  • Monitor trends in project performance and proactively identify underlying and potential issues.
  • Understand client drivers and offer value engineering proposals for functionality, cost, and schedule benefits.
  • Negotiate availability guarantees, performance ratios, and capacity test exhibits for project contracts through calculations and data analysis.
  • Prepare, present, and defend performance testing results and monthly or annual reports to clients and their independent engineers.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and SCADA suppliers while interpreting various technical documents.
  • Ensure continued awareness of the renewable market and ongoing innovation and/or issues.
  • Identify and manage risk and opportunities on solar projects.
  • Supervise, direct, coach, train, and mentor a team of 4-6 employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • 10-15 years of progressive construction experience, with leadership and mentoring skills preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of the solar industry, including supporting the operation and performance of solar projects.
  • Ability to monitor and forecast project resources and staffing for the project.
  • Ability to identify and manage risk and opportunities on solar projects.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Experience in leading a team of 4-6 employees.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Power BI, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
