We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Technology Specialist to join our team at PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. This role will be responsible for building virtual models from plans, specifications, and elevations, collaborating with project teams on construction site logistics models, and promoting the use of virtual construction tools and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Model Development: Build virtual models from plans, specifications, and elevations with direct supervision.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with project teams on the development of construction site logistics models.
- Trade Partner Coordination: Collaborate on the trade partner model coordination process and report to the project management team as appropriate.
- Model Updates: Assist with model updates.
- RFI Support: Support the project team in the creation and processing of RFIs.
- Technology Promotion: Promote the use of virtual construction tools and processes to project staff.
- Technology Adoption: Share new technologies with project teams and seek to drive adoption of PCL technologies through operational processes.
- Customer Relationships: Develop and maintain strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor's degree, diploma, or 2-year certificate in a buildings-industry related discipline (e.g., architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC), civil, architectural).
- Experience: Some co-op or relevant experience in a construction environment preferred.
- Drafting and Modeling: Drafting and modeling experience.
- Construction Drawings: Ability to read and understand 2D and 3D construction drawings and specifications is an asset.
- 3D Modeling Software: Working knowledge and training in 3D modeling software and the ability to create content in VDC software is an asset.
- 4D Scheduling Software: Exposure to 4D scheduling software and planning tools is an asset.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational Skills: Organizational skills, high level of detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines.
