HAMILTON HEALTH SCIENCES (HHS) is a prominent Canadian academic research hospital with a workforce of over 15,000 dedicated individuals. As a comprehensive hospital network, HHS encompasses six distinct hospital sites. Notably, it houses Ontario's second-largest and fastest growing pediatric hospital, as well as a regional cancer centre, a regional rehabilitation centre, an urgent care centre, and a satellite health facility.
Within HHS, distinguished healthcare leaders drive cutting-edge research and cultivate the next generation of hospital professionals through collaborative efforts with academic partners, including McMaster University and Mohawk College.

The Board of Directors of HHS is seeking a President & CEO with vision, integrity, and a commitment to advance equity, diversity and inclusion, to achieve the bold vision of the organization.
The President & CEO will bring a deep commitment to community and patient-centred care to the organization. The President & CEO will commit to creating an environment where everyone who interacts with HHS, whether as a patient or a staff member, feels included, safe, and respected.
The new President & CEO will bring multiple years of success as a strategic senior leader and visionary, with extensive experience reporting to a Board of Directors, ideally in a healthcare environment, managing a significant budget and complex unionized workforce.
With exceptional knowledge and insight into Ontario's evolving health care system, the President & CEO will leverage the outstanding strengths of the Board, senior team, physicians, staff, patient and family advisors, volunteers, and academic and community partners.
Academic preparation at the Masters level, or equivalent, is preferred.
About the Opportunity
The President & CEO will lead and manage the integrated system of hospitals, programs, and services that comprise HHS. This role will require a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape, strategic leadership, and a commitment to advancing the organization's mission and vision.
The President & CEO will be responsible for driving innovation, improving patient outcomes, and fostering a culture of excellence within HHS.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have multiple years of experience as a strategic senior leader and visionary, with a proven track record of success in a healthcare environment.
The President & CEO will have exceptional knowledge and insight into Ontario's evolving health care system, as well as a deep understanding of the organization's mission, vision, and values.
The President & CEO will be a collaborative leader, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, including the Board, senior team, physicians, staff, patient and family advisors, volunteers, and academic and community partners.
Academic preparation at the Masters level, or equivalent, is preferred.
