About the Role

The Physiotherapy Resident will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients in a tertiary care setting who present with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations, or disabilities.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or entry-level master's program in Physiotherapy from an accredited university and be a member of the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists. They will also possess strong communication skills, computer literacy, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop holistic treatment programs for patients
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Supervise physiotherapy assistants and contribute to the evaluation of team effectiveness
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or entry-level master's program in Physiotherapy from an accredited university
  • Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists
  • Computer skills, including statistics input, word processing, and Outlook
  • Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS)
  • WHMIS training and certification
  • Additional courses or education in specialized areas, such as cardio-respiratory techniques, acupuncture, or stroke rehabilitation
