Physiotherapy Resident

The Physiotherapy Resident plays a vital role in our healthcare team, working in a tertiary care setting to assess, diagnose, and treat patients with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations, or disabilities.
As a Physiotherapy Resident, you will be responsible for developing holistic treatment programs using exercises, education, and manual, mechanical, electrical, and hydrotherapy techniques to assist patients in regaining and/or maintaining an optimal level of function.
You will work collaboratively with other health disciplines, the general public, family members, and caregivers to promote health, provide physiotherapy treatment, and manage patient care.
This role also involves supervising physiotherapy assistants and contributing to the evaluation of team effectiveness.
About YouWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physiotherapy Resident who possesses the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or entry-level master's program in Physiotherapy from an accredited university
- Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists (Provincial licensing body)
- Computer skills, including statistics input, word processing, and Outlook
- Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS)
- WHMIS training and certification
- Additional courses/education/training in specialized areas or practice, such as cardio-respiratory techniques, acupuncture, stroke rehabilitation, manual therapy, balance training, etc.
- Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred

Hours and CompensationThis is a full-time long-assignment position, with 100% FTE and 75 hours biweekly. The approximate duration is 12 months, with shifts including days and some weekends. Travel to various sites may be required.
The hourly rate for this position is $33.97.
