Health and Safety Manager

Central Protection Services is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Officer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees and clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and control budget and expenditures related to health and safety initiatives
- Manage contracts and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Initiate enforcement procedures to fine or close establishments that fail to meet health and safety standards
- Oversee the analysis of employee data and information to identify potential health and safety risks
- Develop and implement health and safety plans and strategies to mitigate risks
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed and enforced
- Oversee the preparation of reports and provide recommendations to senior management
- Advise senior management on health and safety matters and provide guidance on best practices
- Respond to employee questions and complaints related to health and safety
- Liaise with management, union officials, and HR consultants to ensure effective communication and collaboration
- Organize staff consultation and grievance procedures to resolve health and safety concerns
- Oversee payroll administration and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Recruit and hire staff to support health and safety initiatives
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to employees on health and safety performance
- Evaluate work environments, programs, and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury
- Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
- Criminal record check
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
- Hand-eye coordination and ability to distinguish between colors
- Ability to sit for extended periods and stand for short periods
- Combination of sitting, standing, and walking
- Steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, and cellular phone required
- Client focus, excellent oral and written communication skills, flexibility, judgement, and organized
