Job Title: Welding / Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor

BWXT Canada Ltd. is a leading provider of nuclear power generation equipment and medical isotopes. We are seeking a highly skilled Welding / Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor to join our team in Cambridge, Ontario.

Job Summary:

The Welding / Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor will lead a team of Welding Engineers and Technical Specialists. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and maintaining shop documentation, assessing and resolving non-conforming conditions, and supporting shop operations, including facilities and equipment maintenance, upgrade or installation. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and experience in the Nuclear industry and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare welding Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs) and Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS)
  • Resolve non-conforming conditions identified by Quality Control
  • Develop and support shop procedures for existing and new welding applications
  • Maintain realistic time standards for shop performance and provide realistic durations for shop schedules
  • Maintain data base of welding equipment, consumables and approvals
  • Conduct pre-manufacturing product reviews and identify tooling and fixtures needed to support the work
  • Design and draft tooling as required to support shop welding activities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or in an appropriate discipline
  • Higher level degree (masters, PhD) considered an asset
  • P.Eng. -Mechanical or appropriate Engineering field is required
  • 15+ years of experience in a fast-paced heavy manufacturing environment
  • Experience in the Nuclear industry, and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code specifically
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
What We Offer:
