Job Title: Welding / Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor

BWXT Canada Ltd. is a leading provider of nuclear power generation equipment and medical isotopes. We are seeking a highly skilled Welding / Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor to join our team in Cambridge, Ontario.

Job Summary:

The Welding / Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor will lead a team of Welding Engineers and Technical Specialists. Key responsibilities include preparing and maintaining shop documentation, assessing and resolving non-conforming conditions, and supporting shop operations, including facilities and equipment maintenance.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Prepare welding Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs) and Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS) to ensure compliance with quality system and customer specification requirements.
  • Resolve non-conforming conditions identified by Quality Control, assessing each case relative to control drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Develop and support shop procedures for existing and new welding applications.
  • Maintain realistic time standards for shop performance and provide realistic durations for shop schedules.
  • Maintain a database of welding equipment, consumables, and approvals, as well as information on past practices.
  • Conduct pre-manufacturing product reviews to identify tooling and fixtures needed to support the work.
  • Design and draft tooling as required to support shop welding activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in a fast-paced heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the Nuclear industry and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player with proven clear and succinct written and verbal communication skills.
Benefits:

BWXT Canada Ltd. offers a competitive salary range of $107,000 to $156,000 per year, as well as an annual cash incentive and a full range of medical, retirement, and other benefits.
