This position is part of the Connect 6ix project. The Ontario Line subway is currently under construction, and Webuild has a key role in delivering trains, signaling systems, and operations facilities. Connect 6ix will also operate the Ontario Line for 30 years once it comes into service.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Risk Management Specialist to join our project team in Toronto. As a key member of our team, you will identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to ensure successful delivery. Reporting to the Risk Lead, you will develop and implement risk management strategies aligned with project objectives.

Main Responsibilities

  • You will collaborate with stakeholders to identify, assess, and prioritize project risks throughout the construction project lifecycle.
  • You will analyze plans, specifications, and site conditions to identify potential risk factors and develop mitigation strategies.
  • You will assist in developing and implementing tailored risk management plans to address safety hazards, regulatory compliance, environmental impact, and contractual risks.
  • You will support minimizing budget overruns, schedule delays, and quality issues through strategic risk mitigation measures.
  • You will monitor project progress and risk indicators, providing regular updates to the Risk Lead and adjusting mitigation strategies as needed.
  • You will facilitate communication and collaboration among project teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure alignment and project success.
  • You will understand and adhere to safety management systems, policies, procedures, and values.

Requirements

  • You must hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • You should have at least 5 years of experience in construction project management or risk management, with exposure to infrastructure development projects.
  • You should be familiar with construction project lifecycles and associated risks.
  • You should have experience managing risks on complex construction projects, with knowledge of contractual aspects to mitigate legal and financial risks.
  • You should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think strategically.
  • You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • You should be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and deliver accurate and reliable results.
  • Professional certifications such as PMI-RMP (Risk Management Professional) or equivalent are advantageous.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $80,000 and $110,000 CAD, depending on qualifications and experience.
