Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in Nova Scotia. As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing assessment, treatment, education, and supervision of rehab assistants in accordance with professional standards.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of clients in their home environment, establish and evaluate treatment programs, and set goals and discharge plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records according to standards set by the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia and Bayshore HealthCare's policies.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare team members as needed.
  • Communicate with clients and caregivers, providing education and recommendations on treatment strategies.
  • Oversee rehab assistants and caregivers, providing guidance and support as necessary.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Maintain active standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia.
  • Hold professional liability insurance.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training activities.
  • Adhere to Bayshore HealthCare's policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and proactive Health & Safety activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information.

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree or recognized equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia.
  • Preference for three years of experience providing occupational therapy services, with experience in home health and geriatric care an asset.
