Job Title: Addiction Counselor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Addiction Counselor to join our team at the Indigenous Women's Healing Centre. As an Addiction Counselor, you will play a vital role in providing support and programming for residents dealing with addiction, trauma, and intergenerational family dysfunction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to residents
  • Develop and implement programming to support residents in their recovery journey
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a comprehensive approach to resident care
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree/BSW/ Addiction Counselor Certificate with previous experience in addiction counseling
  • Excellent group facilitation and program development skills
  • Must have excellent demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Indigenous culture and traditions a definite asset
  • Knowledge of an Indigenous language or dialect a definite asset
  • CPR/1st Aid Training Certificate or be willing to obtain required
  • Class V MB driver's license and access to a vehicle for work purposes
