Job Title: Addiction Counselor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Addiction Counselor to join our team at the Indigenous Women's Healing Centre. As an Addiction Counselor, you will play a vital role in providing support and programming for residents dealing with addiction, trauma, and intergenerational family dysfunction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to residents
  • Develop and implement addiction recovery programs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
  • Conduct assessments and create treatment plans
  • Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Provide education and support to residents and their families

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., social work, psychology, counseling)
  • Previous experience in addiction counseling, preferably with Indigenous women
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Indigenous culture and traditions an asset
  • CPR/1st Aid Training Certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Class V MB driver's license and access to a vehicle for work purposes
