We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at Verve Senior Living in Richmond Hill. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents.
Accountability ObjectiveUnder the direction of the Health and Wellness Manager, the Registered Practical Nurse will perform nursing interventions with residents within their scope of practice. This includes utilizing the principal functions of nursing services in licensed care and adhering to the professional standards of practice of the applicable provincial College of Nurses.
Background/QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have obtained a recognized nursing license (RPN licensing) and be in good standing. They will also possess excellent leadership skills, organizational skills, and proficient computer skills. A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Practical Nurse is required, with some experience working within a union setting.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the Verve Quality Improvement (VQI) program.
- Distribute medications as per resident medication times.
- Perform treatments to all residents who require them within their area.
- Make assessments regarding changes in a resident's condition.
- Update resident care plans according to resident needs.
- Complete all medication, treatment, and incidental charting for residents on the nursing unit.
- Facilitate communication with nursing staff regarding care or concerns.
- Initiate referrals to interdisciplinary team members.
- Work closely with departments to ensure the best possible care and service is provided to residents.
- Utilize and allocate resources effectively.
- Provide direction to front-line nursing staff.
- Supervise and investigate staff actions or concerns.
- Redirect and mentor front-line healthcare staff.
- Comply with health and safety regulations.
- Manage individuals and situations that are not in compliance with guidelines.
- Complete all required mandatory training/education.
- Analyze and provide action plans in conjunction with other departments.
- Analyze data and summarize into a report.
