Wellness Navigator, Substance Use Specialist

About the Role
The First Nations Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Wellness Navigator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in advancing the Vision of "Healthy, Vibrant and Self-determining BC First Nations Children, Families and Communities" in British Columbia.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of regional substance use and decriminalization literacy work, providing tools and support for increased awareness and access to supports and services.
- Play a supportive role in decriminalization implementation, collaborating with local law enforcement and community health and wellness service providers.
- Support knowledge translation and communications related to decriminalization, recommending and implementing practices and procedures to improve access to substance use care and health and wellness programs.
- Develop partnerships with community health and wellness service providers and local healthcare providers to offer spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical wellness programs for community members.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A certificate in substance use specialization and relevant experience are also required. First aid level 1, Hep B shot, and flu vaccine are mandatory, as well as Naloxone training.
