Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Nutrition Program Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for implementing the school's nutrition programming, including meal preparation, menu planning, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare high-quality, nutritious meals for students, adhering to Canada's Food Guide and safe food handling practices.
  • Maintain kitchen spaces and food storage areas to ensure compliance with public health guidelines.
  • Manage food and supply ordering, receiving, and verification, as well as track program expenses and maintain records.
  • Engage with children and youth to ensure meals reflect their diversity of preferences, requirements, and cultural backgrounds.
Requirements:
  • Complete secondary education.
  • Minimum of 1-year prior experience in food preparation, ideally for large groups.
  • Experience purchasing and receiving food and supplies, and keeping accurate records.
  • A working knowledge of safe food handling practices and Canada's Food Guide.
  • A valid Food Handler Certificate or willingness to attain one.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000-$60,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a pension plan and paid time off.
