Your Role

In this role, you will work collaboratively with our interprofessional care team to provide treatment and care management services to individuals with mental illness and concurrent disorders. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing client needs and developing comprehensive treatment plans based on best practices.
  • Providing direct nursing care to clients, including reviewing client history, conducting physical/psychosocial assessments, and implementing treatment modalities.
  • Working from a strengths-based model, using motivational interviewing and engagement techniques to develop individualized care plans.
  • Establishing therapeutic relationships with clients and their informal support networks, promoting self-care and informed decision-making.
  • Teaching clients and families about management and treatment of specific psychiatric conditions, concurrent substance use issues, and integration of illness into their lifestyle.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing from an approved school.
  • Two years of recent experience providing treatment services to individuals with mental health and/or concurrent disorders.
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • A valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and access to personal vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.
