About the Role:

The Senior Background Animation Team Lead is a key member of our team responsible for producing, delivering, and managing animation for background shots and sequences. As a leader, you will drive the quality and style of our show, partnering with the Animation Supervisor and Animation Director to achieve these goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage continuity of shots and sequences by coordinating with the animation team.
  • Collaborate with the Animation Director to guide the animation of sequences during rounds, working closely with artists assigned to a particular sequence or shot.
  • Assist the Animation Supervisor in accomplishing the style and quality of the animation, ensuring that all standards are met.
  • Oversee the animation process, including drawing over shots for the team and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Ensure that the background team receives necessary assets from previous departments and delivers high-quality results on time.
  • Contribute to quota as assigned by the Assistant Production Manager.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in fine arts or animation, or equivalent experience.
  • Senior-level expertise in animation, with strong understanding of body mechanics, facial expressions, and acting performance.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working on animated films.
  • Proficiency in high-end 3D software, such as Maya.
  • Familiarity with crowd software, such as Atoms, Myarmy, Golaem, or Houdini, is a plus.

Compensation:

We offer an estimated salary of $95,000 - $115,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
