About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Tools and Animation Programmer for our Engine Development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining core animation systems within Unreal Engine 5. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize these systems for multiple platforms.

The successful applicant will have a strong background in game or VFX development, with extensive experience in C++ programming. Excellent linear algebra skills and familiarity with multi-threaded programming are also essential. A basic understanding of animation concepts and application-level programming expertise would be beneficial.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Architect and implement core animation systems for Unreal Engine 5
  • Design and develop user interfaces for animation systems
  • Collaborate with programmers, animators, technical animators, and product designers to ensure seamless integration
  • Partner across multiple teams and time zones to drive project success
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and designs
Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional game or VFX development experience
  • Prior experience developing tools in Unreal and C++ applications
  • Strong linear algebra skills and proficiency in multi-threaded programming
  • Basic understanding of animation concepts and principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both technical and non-technical
Nice to Have Skills

If you possess any of the following skills, it would be a significant advantage:

  • Experience with rigging systems, animation state machines, low-level animation systems, physics-based animation, and IK systems
  • Demonstrated interest in games and animation
  • An eye for detail and appreciation for the craft of making games and animation
