Job Summary:

The Medical Director of the Adult Emergency Department will lead and manage the provision of emergency medical services to patients, ensuring high-quality care and efficient delivery of services. This position will also be responsible for planning, coordinating, and evaluating emergency department services across the province.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical leadership and oversight to the Adult Emergency Department staff
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure quality patient care
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to improve emergency department services
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the emergency department and identify areas for improvement
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from a recognized university
  • Licensed with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM)
  • Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada (Emergency Medicine) or Certificant of College of Family Physicians of Canada (Emergency Medicine) or ABEM (American Board of Emergency Medicine)
  • Eligible for a medical staff appointment with Shared Health
