About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our research team at The University of British Columbia. This two-year appointment offers an exciting opportunity to explore the role of environmental variation in shaping parasite infection dynamics in intertidal marine invertebrates.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing field and laboratory experiments to test hypotheses about invertebrate-parasite ecological and evolutionary dynamics. They will also collaborate with the Sentinels team of scientists, postdocs, field and data technicians, and publish results in peer-reviewed journals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct state-of-the-art empirical research on host-parasite interactions
  • Develop and execute experimental designs to test hypotheses
  • Collaborate with the research team to achieve project goals
  • Publish research findings in top-tier journals
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in parasitology, evolutionary ecology, or a related field, with experience in leading field and experimental projects. Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn and grow are essential.

Benefits

The University of British Columbia offers a competitive salary of $70,000 per year, commensurate with experience, and a comprehensive benefits package. The position is based at the Vancouver campus, which lies on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Musqueam people.
