Job Description

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work under the MITACS Accelerate program, collaborating with Enerkem and the University of Alberta's Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering. As an Advanced Materials Engineer, you will contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies and processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field, with a strong understanding of applying fundamental scientific and engineering principles.
  • At least 3 years of experience in R&D or work experience in a pilot plant facility, specifically in the clean energy, chemicals, and fuel sector.
  • Excellent knowledge of zeolite catalysis, catalyst characterization, and design, as well as bench/pilot reactor system design and fabrication.
  • Proficiency in process modeling tools, such as Aspen HYSYS and Aspen Plus.
  • Strong technical and economic skills, including cost estimation experience.
  • Evidence of scientific accomplishment through peer-reviewed publications.

This position offers a competitive salary of $52,500 CAD per year, plus benefits as applied under the UofA postdoctoral program office.
